Welcome to my Raspberry Pi 2 Model B, Web Server!

As I make changes to my Raspberry Pi 2, I have decided to document them here. Over time I hope to back date some of the changes that I have not written down.

Here goes. So at command line I typed "date", and descoved the date/time is wrong. Time to fix that. Knowing this involves ntp, refresh my knowledge on the subject, thanks to google.

Here are my steps:

Went to http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/us and looked up the U.S. time servers.

sudo vim /etc/ntp

Commented out the old servers and put in the new ones.
#server 0.debian.pool.ntp.org iburst
#server 1.debian.pool.ntp.org iburst
#server 2.debian.pool.ntp.org iburst
#server 3.debian.pool.ntp.org iburst
server 0.us.pool.ntp.org iburst
server 1.us.pool.ntp.org iburst
server 2.us.pool.ntp.org iburst
server 3.us.pool.ntp.org iburst

sudo apt-get install ntpdate

sudo service ntp stop

sudo ntpdate 0.north-america.pool.ntp.org

sudo service ntp start

Well after fixing ntp, I was wishing I had a program called screen installed

Lets see if I can find it. $ apt-cache show screen

Yep. It exists. Lets install it. $ sudo apt-get install screen

Set it to my liking $ vim ~/.screenrc

hardstatus alwayslastline
hardstatus string "%{= KW} %H [%`] %{= Kw}|%{-} %-Lw%{= bW}%n%f %t%{-}%+Lw %=%C%a %Y-%M-%d"

All done. Now I can switch between screens when working :)
